Mark Summers

Mark is an industry expert and innovator. As founder and Chief Executive Officer of ThreeWire, Inc., he has applied his substantial and diverse knowledge gained through more than twenty years of industry experience to the development of new marketing, recruitment and patient engagement models for the pharmaceutical, medical device and biotech industries. During his tenure as Vice President of Marketing at Spine-Tech, Inc. he designed and launched one of the first direct-to-patient marketing programs in the medical device industry. Mark also initiated proprietary platforms designed to directly reach and engage patients who are candidates for medical device and pharmaceutical products and clinical trials.

Mark has been actively involved in health care and medical device marketing for 25 years. Prior to joining ThreeWire in November 2008, Mark served as EnteroMedics’ Vice President of Market Development and Reimbursement during their pre-clinical stage, trial enrollment period and IPO. During his tenure, Mark had primary responsibility to secure enrollment of EnteroMedics’ 300-subject trial in the US and Australia. Prior to serving at EnteroMedics he led the market development efforts in women’s health at both Gyrus Medical, now part of Olympus, and at American Medical Systems. Mark served in various marketing and management positions at Medtronic and at Advanced Bionics where he was involved in the development and launch of multiple active implantable products involving spinal cord, deep brain and cochlear stimulation technologies.
