Case studies are really snapshots of solutions. They reveal how ThreeWire has tackled some of the greatest challenges and hardest-to-reach patient populations on behalf of our customers—and the kind of measurable results and predictable success you can expect when we apply a fresh, focused and disciplined approach to engaging the patients you need.

Case Study Phase III COPD drug – U.S. and Canada

Challenge
Randomize 200 subjects in 45 days, including obtaining IRB approval, and launching the recruitment program within 30 days of contract signing.

Solution
ThreeWire developed radio, television and print ads, as well as a dedicated study website and patient portal. Respondents were pre-screened at our Patient Interaction Center and referred as appropriate to approximately 75 sites.

Results
More than 4000 screenings were completed in three weeks. The referral rate was over 50 percent higher than forecasted. Recruitment goals were reached two weeks ahead of schedule.

Case Study Phase II arthritis drug – U.S. and Europe

Challenge
Launch the project at an investigator meeting in Europe ten days after contract signing. Complete as many randomizations as possible in this 140-subject study with extremely narrow inclusion criteria by using only “known” patients within the sites’ databases or that of their referring physicians.

Solution
ThreeWire implemented chart reviews at selected sites in eastern and western Europe, U.K., Canada and the U.S. Candidates identified were contacted either via telephone or letter and offered the opportunity to screen for the study.

Results
Thousands of patient charts were reviewed to identify over 300 potential participants. Approximately 180 were evaluated for suitability for site screening, resulting in 50 site screening visits and 35 randomizations. Project completed in 90 days.

Case Study Phase III cardiology drug – U.S.

Challenge
Jump start enrollment in the U.S. for this large international study so that early enrollment rates did not fall behind projections.

Solution
ThreeWire conducted chart reviews at selected sites to identify “known” study candidates. Radio, television, print and web advertisements were employed to identify “unknown” study candidates. All candidates were screened by our Patient Interaction Center for potential referral to sites. Our Site Services group worked closely with staff at each participating site to ensure rapid and efficient scheduling and screening of eligible candidates.

Results
More than 3000 media patients were pre-screened by our Patient Interaction Center over a 30-day period, resulting in approximately 400 referrals and 50 randomizations. Approximately 3500 charts were reviewed at 7 sites, resulting in 104 Patient Interaction Center pre-screenings, 11 site referrals and 4 randomizations.

Case Study Phase II drug for Parkinson’s Disease – U.S.

Challenge
Enrollment for this 60-patient study had been underway for one year with 35 subjects enrolled. The sponsor had a 90-day deadline for randomizing the remaining 25 subjects.

Solution

ThreeWire worked with 5 carefully selected sites to identify a mix of “known” and “unknown” study candidates through chart reviews and highly targeted radio and print advertisements. All candidates were screened by our Patient Interaction Center nurses. Those who passed pre-screening were invited with caregivers to attend a ThreeWire Community Health Talk™ (CHT™), where the respective investigator delivered a presentation based on informed consent. At the conclusion, interested participants were offered the opportunity for site screening.

Results
Following a 30-day startup period, 5 CHTs were conducted over a 10-day period. Out of a total 75 attendees, 25 subjects were consented and randomized prior to the 90-day deadline.
